PP non-woven fabric in agriculture
PP non-woven fabric is made from polypropylene resin pellets, which are heated to a standard temperature. These melted pellets are then spun into fibers and pressed together on a conveyor belt. After cooling, the final non-woven fabric product is obtained. To bond the PP fibers together, methods such as calendaring, thermal bonding, or chemical treatments are applied. The quality of non-woven fabric is evaluated by the GSM (grams per square meter) index, which indicates the fabric’s thickness as well as its tensile strength and durability.
Nowadays, non-woven fabric is widely applied in various fields of social life. Among these, agriculture is one of the most notable areas. Non-woven fabric helps protect crops, increase yield, improve crop quality, reduce labor costs for weeding and pesticide spraying, and is environmentally friendly, among other benefits.
